Jenny explains:

Despite the initial backlash from its unconventional release with Apple, the album remains a fan favorite for its raw honesty and craftsmanship.
The Apple Controversy
Hillary and Jenny also address the infamous Apple release, where "Songs of Innocence" appeared on millions of iPhones overnight. Though meant to be a gift, the move sparked widespread criticism.
Hillary recalls:
"People acted like Bono had dipped their phone in acid. It was that bad to have free U2 on your phone."
Despite the drama, both hosts agree that the album's quality stands on its own merits.
